Great blog-we so need to seek out alternatives to this consumption driven life.
My son found a ToysRus catelog and was searching it and I'm finding it so hard not to be negative. I really want to embrace this holiday by celebrating family and friends. By cooking at home and by making and delivering baskets for The Aliveness Project. I'm trying to steer conversations about purchasing into what we might get that children who live with HIV/AIDS would like and could use. Any other suggstions for a holiday not filled with buying let us know! Thanks Lisa Ray!

p.s. A name yes, a clever one I like Mel's ideas.

Oh. So I guess you didn't take my suggestion to sell naming rights for this blog? If it's not too late, I still think having some big company like Mattel or WorldCom or Montgomery Ward be the official sponsor your Web blog would be a real marketing coupe.

Great theme, Lisa... look forward to reading more from you. As the parent of an 8 year old and a 3 year old (both girls), I share your concern... all the best!
