Bah, humbug, or, Even uppity advocacy bloggers need a break
Trying to do the right thing at Christmas really takes it out of a blogger.
Even I’m tired of the safe toys issue. And the Christmas consumption issue.
And I’m not ready for Christmas!
One thing we’ve always done is make our own Christmas cards. This year we went with all recycled materials. We were inspired by these cards from Disney-owned Family Fun magazine. We cut up all the catalogs we get to make the candles and painted plain paper to make the flames.
Now I just have to address and mail them.
See you next year.

I’m feeling the Grinch pinch too and need to ’suck it up’ and get jolly for all, but I feel I have a titch of ‘founder flameout’ (not as pretty as your lovely eco-candle cards). Kinda feel like that “reindeer dog” scaling Grinch mountain burdened with bundles of work in my sleigh.
After I make it to the peak, grunting and panting to hit another milestone, the dang thing chases me down the mountain and gets ahead of me again!
Know you feel the same as a start-up too, so hang in there, Lisa…
I think I’m gonna take a few cues from you and shut down a bit for a tad…as my biggest allies keep saying, “everyone’s swamped right now, so save your good stuff, as they probably don’t even have time to read it right now!”
yeah, yeah…I know…I’m gonna go ‘elf myself’ (that one I’ll write about today, as it’s a hoot as corporate viral marketing goes, and has made my e-Xmas card solution much easier) ho-ho-ho, from Grinch#2

Amy, thanks for the kind words and understanding. I hope your aliies are right! And I’m hanging in there.
A friend also elfed herself (and her whole family) and it was hysterical.

Damnit yet another mother doing inspiring things that I just never ever ever get around to. Anyway, your cards look beautiful. Happy holidays and rest.

Blue, thanks for the note. My cards arrived at my in-laws’ while we were there for Christmas — two of the candles had fallen off. So much for inspiring/beautiful.
