Great links roundup on Sociological Images, too, Lisa...I'll add it to my updated post on Shaping Youth for sure; btw, did you see the Eve Ensler "I am an emotional creature" gender/Vday power preso? http://www.v-girls.org/ Pretty cool use of simple text to advocate for a global movement to end violence/exploitation of girls and women...

Chris Rock once said, "You know you did a good job raising your kids, if you keep your daughters off the pole.". I use to think that was funny, but now I wonder where are the parents? Where are the Cyrus's and why don't they care that their 15 year old daughter is posing nude on magazines? It's not ok for parents to think that their kids are going to do whatever they want so they should just accept it. You are a parent. Do your job. And take that lingerie off that kid.

Yes, tired of this for sure. Have you seen the babyGap "boyfriend jeans" for toddler girls? Yes, toddler girls.
http://www.empoweredbyplay.org/2010/01/boyfriend-jeans-for-toddler-girls/ I also get outraged when I hear the term "pre-tween" - as if the whole "tween" thing isn't out of control already. Another great resource: So Sexy So Soon by Diane Levin and Jean Kilbourne.

Let's not lose the outrage!
